Governance

The Penn State Board of Trustees is the fiduciary for University investment assets. It has established a government structure that includes the establishment and definition of the Penn State Investment Council (PSIC). The Board of Trustees has authorized the PSIC to oversee the Long-Term Investment Pool assets. Good governance enhances long-term value for LTIP and its participants. Clearly defined roles and responsibilities are essential to good governance.

Board of Trustees

Through the Board of Trustees Resolution Regarding Investment and Spending Policies, the Board of Trustees creates and defines the composition and authority of the Penn State Investment Council (PSIC). They outline goals for investing assets and creating distributions via a spending policy. The University's funds are invested to achieve maximum return while managing risk appropriately.

Penn State Investment Council

The Penn State Investment Council regularly conducts quarterly meetings. It follows the roles and responsibilities defined by the Board of Trustees and detailed in the Long-Term Investment Pool (LTIP) Investment Policy Statement managed by the PSIC. The PSIC delegates certain day-to-day responsibilities to OIM in the management of the LTIP.
